My Argentine immersion commenced with an arrival in Buenos Aires, where I embarked on a transformative week-long global immersion sponsored by UCLA, alongside my MBA cohort. The city's fervent spirit immediately embraced us; we witnessed the electrifying intensity of a Boca vs. River Plate local game, shared the communal ritual of mate, and explored the vibrant tapestry of local markets. Evenings were a celebration of camaraderie, savoring exquisite Argentine beef and wine with my MBA classmates in bustling restaurants, followed by the passionate spectacle of a tango dance. Beyond the cultural delights, our immersion extended to industry, with illuminating tours of a Toyota factory, observing the intricate process of automotive assembly, and a visit to the headquarters of Mercado Libre, where we had the invaluable opportunity to converse with the CEO. We also gained profound insight into social innovation by touring Daravi, a compelling social entrepreneurship company. Following this dynamic week, a breathtaking journey to Iguazu Falls with three MBA classmates offered a magnificent natural crescendo to our Argentine adventure, an experience of unparalleled grandeur and shared discovery.
