My expedition to Vietnam concluded with a deliberate and high-energy layover in Taipei, a city that perfectly bridges ancient tradition with soaring modernity. Navigating the logistics with ease, I took the MRT from the airport directly to Taipei Main Station, the city's bustling transit heart. From there, I transitioned to the Blue Line to reach the historic Lungshan Temple, an architectural masterpiece and spiritual anchor where I spent time absorbing the intricate carvings and vibrant local devotion and their practices..

Adjacent to the temple, I explored the winding lanes of the nearby night market, sampling local flavors and witnessing the city's famous street-food culture. To maximize my time, I took a quick ride to the iconic Taipei 101. Standing at the foot of this engineering marvel, once the tallest building in the world, provided a striking contrast to the morning's traditional sights. After taking in the skyline, I returned to Taipei Main Station to catch the express back to the airport, completing a seamless urban adventure before continuing my journey home to Los Angeles. This brief but immersive stop served as the perfect final chapter to an incredible journey across the frontier.
