My solo exploration of Ukraine commenced with an arrival in Kyiv, a capital city steeped in profound history and resilient spirit. I was immediately drawn to the majestic St. Sophia Cathedral, its golden domes shimmering, a testament to ancient Kievan Rus' grandeur. A visit to the sprawling Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra offered a deeply spiritual journey through its cave monasteries and sacred grounds. Later, an unforgettable road trip unfolded with a Ukrainian videographer friend and his wife, leading us through the picturesque landscapes of Zhytomyr to a striking railway bridge spanning the Teteriv River. We paused in Zhytomyr itself for a memorable local lunch, soaking in the authentic regional atmosphere. This journey through Ukraine revealed a nation of rich heritage, breathtaking natural beauty, and warm, enduring hospitality.
