Having called the Golden State home for quite some time now, I’ve found that this land is a vast collection of memories etched into a diverse landscape. From the cinematic energy of Hollywood to the restorative rhythm of the coast, there is a constant inspiration here fueled by incredible beauty and near-perfect weather.
My time here has been defined by a mix of creative ambition and outdoor adventure. I’ve spent much of my career in Southern California, shooting short films and interacting with the creative pulse of the industry. A particularly profound highlight was the opportunity to shoot an interview with Sir Sidney Poitier at his Hollywood home through The Vijay Amritraj Foundation—a moment that stands out even in a city full of stars. Whether I’m playing guide for visitors at the Hollywood Sign or exploring the hidden gems of LA, the vibrant culture never gets old.
Beyond the city, I’ve found a different kind of perspective on the open road—from the endurance of cycling the iconic route from Santa Cruz to Santa Monica to the quiet awe of a road trip from Sacramento all the way up to the Oregon border. Reflecting on these chapters, I realize that the most important parts of my life, my most defining moments, and my personal transformations have all taken place here. California has been the essential backdrop to my professional and personal growth, a journey further defined by completing my Executive MBA at UCLA.
